Description: This Bioacoustic Unit report summarizes detections of a species at risk, the Rusty Blackbird, in the oil sands region with the deployment of automated recording units (ARUs). This report notes that detections by ARUs is higher relative to previously used methods. It also outlines areas where probability of detection is high, and suggests important areas for conservation efforts within the Lower Athabasca Planning Region.
