Our Collaborators

Our Delivery Partners

Our staff and operations are distributed among three delivery partners.

The ABMI would not be possible without the strong support from our partners at InnoTech Alberta, the University of Alberta, and the University of Calgary.

This showcase of collaboration allows us to capitalize on inherent strengths offered by each delivery partner to deliver wide-ranging and comprehensive biodiversity monitoring. We have master operating agreements with our delivery partners that clearly define the respective roles, responsibilities, financial relationships, and performance commitments to be assumed by the partners.

University of Alberta

The University of Alberta (U of A) provides capacity for the ABMI in a number of functional areas and allows us to create key partnerships in the university environment.

Innotech Alberta

InnoTech Alberta facilitates our Monitoring Centre operations out of their facility in Vegreville. InnoTech also provides leadership and functional support for our Information and Science Centres from its Edmonton and Calgary offices.

University of Calgary

The University of Calgary (U of C) has a long-standing research agreement with the ABMI. We work collaboratively to identify research projects of mutual benefit that serve our strategic priorities. Previous and ongoing research includes the use of remote sensing and geospatial technologies for determining vegetation recovery on human-disturbed sites and for assessing rangeland conditions.
