Wildlife Camera Trapping: A Review and Recommendations for Linking Surveys to Ecological Processes

Description: Camera traps (CT) are increasingly being used to survey wildlife distribution, abundance, and behaviour. This publication reviewed 266 CT studies and although the author's remain optimistic about the technology's promise, they call for more explicit consideration of underlying processes of animal abundance, movement, and detection by cameras, including more thorough reporting of methodological details and assumptions.
