Conceptual Framework and Rationale for Monitoring Forest Biodiversity in Alberta

Published: Dec 31, 1998
Description: This document describes the methods in which the ABMI (formerly Alberta Forest Biodiversity Monitoring Program/AFBMP) will monitor forest biodiversity. Major stressors and indicators are proposed, and detection of these variables will be through remote sensing and field data collection. An integrated framework for monitoring forest biodiversity is based on Provincial Trend monitoring, Regional Trend monitoring, Large-Scale Management Experiments, and Long-term Ecological research.
