POSTED ON:

ABMI is honoured to be nominated for the Nature Inspiration Awards 2018 from the Canadian Museum of Nature.

ABMI is among three nominees in the Not-For-Profit category (large organization) and 23 nominees overall. Our fellow nominees in the Not-For-Profit category include Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS), Humber College, and New Brunswick Museum, BiotaNB. We couldn’t be more pleased to be among such great company! These honours, now in their fifth year, recognize individuals, groups and organizations whose leadership and innovation connect Canadians with the natural world.

Among others, the Nature Inspiration Awards recognizes businesses and not-for-profits that show leadership in sustainable business practices and support community outreach, create links for the conservation of public and private land, or empower children and adults with hands-ons activities about biodiversity, nature and the environment.

The shortlist for the 2018 comprises six categories: Youth (aged 17 and younger), Adults (aged 18 and up), Not-for-Profits (small to medium), Not-for-Profits (large), Businesses (small to medium), and Businesses (large).

The Canadian Museum of Nature “provides evidence-based insights, inspiring experiences and meaningful engagement with nature's past, present and future. It achieves this through scientific research, a collection of 14.6 million specimens and artifacts, education programs, signature and travelling exhibitions, and a dynamic website.”

The museum will host a gala on November 7, 2018 in Ottawa to celebrate the finalists, and to announce the winners in each category.
